Frequently Asked Questions

Q - Should I speak to a solicitor?
A – Yes, most definitely. You have rights under the law to live your life safely, a quick phone call will explain those rights clearly, in plain English, protecting you and guiding you as to what to do next

Q – Solicitors are expensive aren’t they?
A – If we are able to act for you, our charges will be recovered from those responsible for causing your injury. We will GUARANTEE you will not have to pay a penny towards your legal representation.

Q – Should I be scared of talking to a solicitor?
A – No, solicitors are trained to put you at ease, to help you explain exactly what happened that caused your injury, and then to help guide you.

Q – What about my car/bike/van?
A – Every claim is different but we will explain how to get you back on the road as safely and quickly as possible. If your vehicle needs repairs we will usually arrange for another vehicle to be delivered to you. If it is beyond economic repair (a write off) we will try to get early confirmation allowing you to replace the vehicle.

Q – Don’t hire cars cost money?
A – Yes, they do, but we will work with the party responsible for your injury to ensure they pay for the replacement vehicle, not you.

Q – I will be off work, what about my job, my wages, my mortgage?
A – Again, every claim is different but we will work with you to ensure everyone knows what your situation is and to protect you financially. Where suitable we can even arrange for ongoing payments to you to cover bills, mortgages, lost earnings.

Q – Is it true claims take years to resolve?
A – For the vast majority of claims, No. Claims cost money to process so it is in everyone’s interests to settle matters as quickly as possible. There will of course be occasions when it is not wise to do that. If an injury will affect you for months or years it is often sensible to assess the full impact of your injury rather than rush to settlement. Again interim payments can help you financially whilst your full claim is assessed.

Q – I’ve been offered money by the responsible party or their Insurer, should I take it?
A – NO. Without correct guidance and experienced legal advice it is not possible to put a value on an injury claim. Whilst someone offering you money the next day may seem tempting, it may well be that we believe your injury will entitle you to greater compensation. If we believe the offer is fair and reasonable we will advise you accordingly.

Q – Why are Brodie & Company different from the adverts on the telly?
A – We are a national firm and could advertise on TV. In our opinion we are better to place our resources in quality staff, quality service and quality of results. By avoiding the costs of TV adverts we can concentrate on handling your claim honestly, professionally and ethically. This takes time and resources. We are not looking to attract as many claims as possible through call centres and process them quickly or sell them on to the highest bidder. We prefer to ensure you have access to qualified, experienced professionals who know your case, can answer your queries and can take time to explain every stage of the process.

Q – OK, I think I may have a claim, what do I do next?
A – Call FREE on 0800 027 6311 or fill in the claimform online and Make A Claim. We will be in touch to run through details and give guidance. From there we can offer you an experienced opinion of how best to proceed and what to do next.
